AMERICAN IDIOCY or THE PRICE OF GAS VS COFFEE

EARTHMOVER recently received this email , one of those to be forwarded along to inform others about a current issue involving Starbucks Coffee..as follows, verbatim:

Gee whiz..STARBUCKS wont send coffee to our soldiers in action? Hell, I've been boycotting STARBUCKS since they opened...this is just ONE MORE REASON to avoid the place like the plague and STOP paying ridiculously high prices for coffee !!!
Americans wonder why people around the world think we are NUTS..we wonder why oil companies have no compassion for over charging , literally price gouging us on gas prices when oil corporations are reportedly making RECORD PROFITS...we wonder why the price of a barrel of oil keeps skyrocketing and why the Saudis and other Arabs have turned their backs on us, squeezing us for more money by the day...

Why...? I'll tell you why !

Because Americans have made coffee venues like STARBUCKS rich , profitable and ever expanding even in a slow economy by paying ...lets see , by my breakdown from a STARBUCKS menu..the scenerios are as follows:
(GET OUT YOUR CALCULATORS FOLKS! )

1. An 'ECONOMY' 'low octane' regular coffee is $1.40 for a 12 oz cup. 12 oz x 12 factor (or servings) would equal approximately 1 Gallon. 12 x $1.40 = a MEASLY $16.80 / GALLON !

2. A 'Medium grade' / '89 octane' coffee drink , say a latte or cappacino, is cheap right at $2.55 for a 12 ounce cup ...which equates to ONLY $30.66 per GALLON !

3. A Premium 'high test' (only baby boomers remember this terminology) or 92 high octane coffee drink at your precious STARBUCKS... say a 'Mocha Valencia' is a mere $3.50 for a 12 ouncer, which equates to $42.00 PER GALLON...now..add TAX to that and you are up to $45 PER GALLON !!!

4. Now add the price of (conservatively ) 1-2 gallons of GASOLINE to get to and from your favorite Starbucks that you FOOLS will go 3-10 MILES OUT OF YOUR WAY FOR (this is documented ) you are now paying ...
OVER $50.00 PER GALLON FOR FREAKIN COFFEE YOU IDIOTS!

ENGLISH SMINGLISH...IT'S BECOMING EXTINGUISHED

OK fellow Americans. ...this topic is definitely on my 'pet peeves' list (see PEAVES blog)
When was the last time you went shopping, out in public, to any event, restaurant, and more specifically, a 7-11 / Circle K or other convenience store, a WALMART, the US Post Office, a Fast Food chain ..ANY DAMN WHERE...and heard NOTHING BUT the English language wafting thru the air? What's that? Back in the 70's you say ? I am sorry if my opinion offends any of my foreigner American citizen wanna-bees...but quite honestly, the lack of interest in learning the American English language by most foreigners is DISTURBING to say the least ! I'm afraid all that mumbo jumbo foreign talk that appears all around us is changing the face of this nation...the good old USA...and its clogging up the airwaves with unknown to 'us' frequencies that could alter they way we speak ! LOL
Seriously tho ..as a kid I met and even knew foreigners who came here first generation off the boat landing in NY city ...friends & relatives of my parents. Those people WANTED desperately to learn English and you rarely ever heard them speak their native tongue because they knew if they did, they'd 1. never earn the respect of fellow American citizens, especially those born and raised here 2. they'd never learn English if they didnt practice using it as often as possible, so they used COMMON SENSE and refrained from speaking any language but English. I usually only heard their native language when they got upset at their children or family members and began yelling foreign cuss words!

Now days it seems foreigners dont care to melt into the proverbial 'melting pot', or care about respect from those of us who grew up here and recall the days when people had respect for the Good Old USA, the Red White & Blue, and True Blue Americans...

The brilliance is gone from the stars ..the blue field is shrinking and the stripes are fading...
right under our noses...
What IS the answer my fellow Americans..Just what is..?
